Co-Sponsor a Campus Blood Drive?
Our Next Blood Drive is Scheduled for October 6, 2008
University Health Services coordinates several blood drives during each academic year.
For a recent blood drive we partnered with the Controller’s Office at UMass Boston to honor the memory of long time employee Dennis Laughlin through a special blood drive in his honor.
This blood drive was THE MOST successful ever held at UMass Boston. In addition to providing the American Red Cross with much needed donations, it was also a very meaningful and special experience for Dennis' friends and coworkers.
If your department, group or center would like to co-sponsor an upcoming blood drive, please contact Linda Jorgensen , 617-287-5680, Director of UHS Health Education and Wellness Program.
What is involved in co-sponsoring a blood drive? University Health Services will work with the American Red Cross to schedule and promote the blood drive. What is needed is assistance ON THE DAY OF THE DRIVE to assist with the registration and staffing the 'canteen'. There is no prior training or experience required, just a group of people who are willing to provide their time and energy.
